Why Leg Ulcer & Compression Days?
A venous leg ulcer is the most common type of leg ulcer. Venous leg ulcers are estimated to affect around 1 in 500 people in the UK and Ireland, although they become much more common with age (around 1 in 50 people over the age of 80 has one).
As a chronic condition, the burden of these wounds can be enormous for patients, caregivers as well as the HSE and NHS.
Our Leg Ulcer Days in 2024 aim to help share education and best practice to achieve better healing outcomes for patients with venous leg ulcers in the UK and Ireland through timely and consistently applied therapeutic compression.
